On September 17 the University of Liège’s Board of Directors decided to strengthen the mandate by which depositing on ORBi is compulsory.
Not only has the procedure for depositing references and documents been consolidated, but so has that concerning the evaluation of dossiers, and in particular publication lists, for any application for a job appointment, promotion or the attribution of credit. In addition it was decided that BICTEL/e, the ULg thesis repository, will very soon be integrated into ORBi.
First and foremost this decision has expanded the perimeter of publications to be encoded within ORBi in order to complete the institutional bibliography. All the references to publications by ULg authors must be added to ORBi, and no longer only those published since 2002.
Next it clarifies the framework of obligatory document depositing. From now on journal articles published since 2002 must be deposited once the publisher has accepted the article, and not after publication or even later.
It also reinforces the obligation for evaluators to consider only publication lists originating from ORBi for the evaluation of dossiers for any application for a job appointment, promotion or the attribution of credit.
Finally it has officially confirmed that the theses contained within BICTEL/e will very soon be integrated within ORBi, and that future thesis deposits will be carried out directly on the latter. They will from now on thus benefit from ORBi’s significant visibility on the web.
