[en] According to the list of the ‘Threatened bird of the world’, most of the threatened bird species
live in tropical areas, notably South America and South East Asia. The University of Liège
Museum of Zoology holds numerous birds from these tropical areas, collected and purchased
during the 19th century. This contribution is an inventory of the tropical bird species preserved
in collections and lists the specimens which belong to the threatened or extinct species.
