Abstract :	[en] This article examines a cardinal work in the field of contemporary found footage film, the Austrian filmmaker Gustav Deutsch's "Film ist". This open work, a veritable visual summa, is a protean attempt to define cinema by doing and through example. This close reading of a specific segment of "Film ist" enables the author to shine light on the veritable science of montage at play in Deutsch's work.
