[en] This seminar shows how modeling and simulation environments that are built using equation-based solvers can benefit the building energy community. Such modeling and simulation environments separate the formulation of a model’s underlying physics from its numerical solution algorithms. This allows input-output free modeling, it leads to faster model development time and it facilitates model reuse for different applications. Equation-based modeling and simulation environments are frequently used in various industrial sectors. For building energy simulation, however, they have not yet enjoyed wide-spread use. This seminar encourages discussions to understand their applicability, advantages and limitations for the building energy community.
