Abstract :
[en] Architects use freehand sketches in the initial stages of their design work because they prove to be the best adapted media for handling and expressing their preliminary ideas. Therefore, to help designers in their inventive work, a means for inputting and interpreting their sketches was needed. We propose a multi-agent approach to attain that goal. In this paper, we describe the operations of a multi-agent system for the on-line recognition of sketches. This system is currently integrated into the EsQUIsE prototype, a demo program for inputting, analysing and interpreting architectural design sketches.
