[en] Besides opportunistic infections, direct or indirect HIV-mediated lesions of cerebral vascular or neural cells can also occur during the natural course of HIV infection. The main non-infectious complications of HIV are cerebral lymphomas, cerebrovascular disorders, HIV dementia and myelitis.
