[en] Tension-free sub-urethral tapes have revolutionized the surgical treatment of female stress urinary incontinence for the past decade. The inside-out transobturator approach, developed in our Institution 5 years ago, is currently being utilized worldwide. The technique is simple and reproducible and the incidence of complications is minimized. Stress urinary incontinence cure rates of almost 90% are achieved after a 3-year minimum follow up. These good results have been confirmed in the international literature.
