Abstract :
[en] Sungucine ( found only in Strychnos icaja ) represents a new type of bisindolinic alkaloid with an unusual C(23)-C(5') bond between the two parts of the molecule, which have the same stereochemistry. Ring D (and D') is almost in a boat conformation and C(2)-C(16) is cis. There are only van der Waals interactions in the orthorombic crystals of the molecular complex 1:1 sungucine-acetone.
