Résumé :	[en] The history of the discovery of Neptune and of the rings of Uranus is briefly reviewed, and the discovery of a ring around Neptune is described. The determination of some ring parameters is reported. Significant questions posed by the observations, e.g., why detections did not always occur when the ring zone passed in front of a star, are discussed.
