Abstract :
[en] This paper discusses the recent trend to privilege the particular over the universal, and points out that, while it is true that all universality is 'stained' by the particular, the particular itself is unthinkable without a reference to the universal. This is exemplified by a number of cases from philosophy, cultural theory and literature.
