Abstract :
[en] The main focus in this article is to show why Caryl Phillips’s Crossing the River can be considered a jazz novel and specifically how its rhythmic quality is achieved. The article also seeks to develop an informed understanding of Phillips’s use of music in a way that reflects its significance in the postcolonial context.
