Abstract :
[en] The first description of an orbital expansion surgery for the treatment of dysthyroid orbitopathy comes back to Dollinger in 1911. He takes off the external wall of the orbit by the latero-orbital approach previously described by Kronlein. Over the past 100 years, multiple orbital decompression techniques have been detailed and compared. All faces of the orbital pyramid have been proposed to decompression by all possible surgical approaches. The coronal approach of the orbit, which permits a safe, very efficient, global surgical treatment of dysthtyroid orbitopathy, is described.
