A study was conducted among households keeping F1 crossbred sows (Yorkshire × Mong Cai) in Cam Hoang commune, Cam Giang district, Hai Duong province from June 2005 to June 2007. Results showed that the F1 crossbred sows were well grown by the households in the commune, becoming more and more popular. The age at first conception was 252.51 days (8.4 months), the number of piglets born was 11.73, the number of piglets weaned per litter 10.42 at 41.68 days of age, the average piglet weight at 80.75 days of age 20.36 kg, the weaning to conception interval 9.79 days, the farrowing interval 165.5 days. Some important traits of reproductive performance of the F1 crossbred were improved from 1st to 4th litter. The profit gained from raising F1 crossbred sows was fairly high (1,306,698 VND/litter/sow).
