[en] The aim of the paper is to present a method to assess the energy efficiency of suburban areas, taking into account both energy efficiency of buildings and the impacts of location and urban form on the energy balance of suburban areas. The method is applied to the Walloon region of Belgium and perspectives for a sustainable suburban renewal are proposed.
