Abstract :
[en] This paper gives an overview of the possibilities offered by the European Succession Regulation (650/2012) to select the applicable law and the competent court. After a general overview, the attention turns to specific topics such as the elements which need to be included in a choice of law provision, the impact of the existence of multiple nationalities, the choice of law in multi-jurisdictional countries, the impact of 'renvoi', and the relationship with third states.
