Abstract :
[en] Architectural projects are rarely object of accurate energy simulations, but always are assessed from thermal energy regulation criteria, in order to obtain the authorisation of building. On the other hand, the choice to himself interest with lawful methods results from the will to widen the evaluation of the project performances with a set of criteria (sound insulation, fire resistance, illumination, etc.), all criteria which cannot necessarily be evaluated with sophisticated evaluation tools, like in energy matters. Such an approach justifies of hold with some simplified methods for the evaluation of the performance energy and, when they exist, for the evaluation of other qualities. The use of lawful methods can help project authors: - to handle the parameters managed at the preliminary stages of the project (such as: volumetry, fenestration, orientation, shape factor, compactness, etc.) and to locate the influence of the architectural choices characterised by these parameters, on the future energy consumption of the building. - to exceed the simple report of an energy performance resulting from a calculation in order to improve the choices, arise the critical parameters and lead to the solution the most preferred by the actors intervening in the project (owner, users, public authorities, ect.) Some European thermal regulations are approached, with regard to the criteria of their energy performance assessment and to the related values of their criteria. The results of the simulations are compared, from: - the satisfaction of the criteria with a look to the accuracy of the results; - the respect, by each project, of the different options proposed by the regulations and their mutual correlation, for the different scopes of the criteria: envelope, heating energy needs and heating energy consumption. In conclusion of the paper, the lawful calculation methods may be used to improve the design of a project, by choosing the most appropriate one and by comparing the evolution of the results, to significant changes introduced in the project.
