Abstract :
[en] Rangelands represent the most important feed sources for goats in the Northern Morocco. Land cover and land use change has become a central component in current strategies for managing natural resources and in environmental change monitoring. For a sustainable and integrated development of pastoral and forest resources, it is essential to establish a resource assessment system. The first step of this system will be to discover the trend of development of forest areas in Rif Mountain between 1984 and 2011 from satellite images and create a pastoral map of Chefchaouen region by using remote sensing and geographic information system (GIS).
