Abstract :
[en] During the first days of the German invasion in Belgium, the city of Louvain and its region was bombed by the Luftwaffe, causing significant damages. On 15 May 1940, the Jesuit College of Eegenhoven, located at 5 km from the center of the university town, was hit by a bomb. In result of this, the library and its 64,000 books have gone up in flames. In this paper, we will explore Jesuits’ strategies used to rebuild their library, with a focus on the France-Belgium connections.
