Abstract :
[en] A hypofractionated split course radiotherapy has been routinely used to treat 201 larynx cancer patients. Two irradiation periods of 6x4 Gy over 2 weeks are separated by a 15 days rest interval. The dose equivalent of 12 fractions of 4 Gy over 6 weeks is estimated to 63 Gy/30 fractions/6 weeks.By comparison with our historical controls, cure rates at 5 years proved effective (e.g. 87% for T1 glottic; 43% for T3+T4 supraglottic). The acute and delayed radiation side-effects have been less important with better functional results.
