[en] A total of 78 species, two subspecies and eight varieties of mosses in 45 genera and 22 families are found in the lowlands to the summit of Gunung Bintang (1862 m a.s.l.) in Sungai Sedim Recreational Forest, kedah. This figure represents 51.2% of the 43 families, 28.8% of the 156 genera and 15.7% of the 560 species and infraspecific taxa of mosses reported for Peninsular Malaysia. Among the 88 taxa recorded, 14 species, one subspecies and two varieties are reported for the first time for kedah. Calymperaceae is the largest family recorded in Sungai Sedim Recreational Forest occur as corticols i.e. growing on trunk of trees.
