Abstract :
[en] Liotrigona gabonensis sp. nov. is described from Gabon. A nest of this new species discovered in a tree trunk is also described and illustrated. Some corrections are made to the revision of EARDLEY (2005): a lectotype is designated for Liotrigona bouyssoui (Vachal, 1903) (comb. nov.); Hypotrigona penna Eardley, 2005 is a synonym junior of Hypotrigona squamuligera Benoist, 1937 (syn. nov.); Meliponula erythra (Schletterer, 1891) and M. togoensis (Stadelman, 1895) are considered valid (resurrected names).
