Abstract :
[en] This fall, to celebrate its 25th anniversary, the artist collective Black Market International (BMI) proposed an "anniversary tour" through Poland and Germany, ending in Bern, Switzerland, at the Bone 13 Performance Art Festival. As part of this creative tour, BMI presented an outstanding performance at the Orangerie - Theater im Volksgarten (24 nov. 2010) in Cologne, away from the mainstream art spaces. For those who have problems appreciating performance art, a full immersion of some hours in the offbeat universe of BMI is recommended. However, they might not get a clear definition of the medium, because the practice of performance art offers an infinite variety : performers themselves keep transforming their use of artistic languages. Let's start with a basic description: in a certain time-space unit, artist start moving presenting actions (with objects, with the space, with their bodies). Going back to that evening of November 24th will help us develop the concept.
