[en] This chapter is a result of joint efforts undertaken by members of the EMES European Research Network who made short contributions about approaches of the third sector in their respective countries while Defourny and Pestoff wrote a synthesis and proposed a conceptualization that aims at taking account of such a diversity across the European Union.
