[en] Aerodynamic investigations of animal flight have usually concentrated on static conditions. These are good enough to analyse gliding flight but not other types of flight, such as cruise (migrations), take-off and landing or manoeuvres. In this work we present wind tunnel experiments on geese flying in a wind tunnel and unsteady aerodynamic simulations of these flights, based on the Vortex Lattice Method.
