[en] Abstract: The destructive effects of amplified ground motions on hills or mountain crests came first to light by the analysis of structural damage distribution patterns related to strong earthquakes. In order to better understand the origin of these so-called topographical effects, many efforts were and are still spent on collecting experimental data and on numerical modelling.
