Abstract :
[en] This paper examines the question whether simple calculation models are always on the safe side compared to advanced calculation models. This question is examined for the shadow effect, for the contact between steel and concrete in composite steel-concrete floors, for the buckling curves of steel sections and, finally, for the factors κ1 and κ2 applied to the bending resistance of steel beams.
