[en] A numerical model for steel at elevated temperature which is based on a mesoscopic finite element
approach is presented. The objective of the research is the analysis of damage evolution in the material using information from the macroscopic and microscopic scales. As a final application our results are used to study the industrial process of continuous casting of low carbon steel.
