Abstract :
[en] In India, in Persia and in the Avesta, a white stallion appears several times under similar circumstances. Present from the beginning of time, it tears open the darkness by a harsh neighing, opens the way to the first rising of the sun, frees the fresh waters and the first rain, making life possible, shows to the priests the right place where to build the sacrificial fires. During ritual chariot races, it leads the team of the new king to victory and carries the tribal fire during the whole year before being sacrificed to the sun.
