Abstract :
[en] The present structure of harbours in the Walloon region hardly fits the needs of present logistic developments. Considering the challenges for the development of fluvial transport, the Walloon public authorities decided in 2010 to indentify potential harbour development sites along its 440 kms of waterways. A three steps approach (selection, ranking and documentation) was designed for this purpose. This paper broaches the methodology and the results of this approach. The area of sites and their availability, which were considered as most debatable during the research, are specifically discussed.
