Abstract :
[en] Translation of detective fiction is here examined in two periods of 20th c. Argentine history: close to the Argentina centennial (1910), and during the first period of Peronism (1946-1955). The hypothesis advanced is that the functions and uses of these translations in the Argentine literary system were dependent of the corresponding configuration of political power, and of the position assumed by the cultural élites towards this political power.
