Abstract :

[en] A case of autopsy-proven acute hemorrhagic leukoencephalitis is reported. Early magnetic resonance imaging showed extensive bilateral asymmetrical demyelinating lesions and foci of microhemorrhage sparing the cortex ribbon. Fulminant disease culminated in coma and death within twenty-four hours. A comprehensive correlation between pathological findings of acute haemorrhagic leukoencephalitis and both classical and advanced neuroimaging findings is provided.
