Abstract :
[en] We know that the eosinophil plays an important role in asthma pathogenesis. This polynuclear cell is attracted into the airways by several chemokines. Eotaxin is one of them. Endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, epithelial cells, alveolar macrophages and eosinophils can produce eotaxin. In asthmatic airways, eotaxin production is increased in bronchial airway lumen and mucosa. Eotaxine actively participates in asthma pathogenesis by activating eosinophil recruitment.
