Abstract :
[en] The authors give a survey of the known data and biological studies about the bark and the tincture of Guatteria gaumeri (Yumel). They describe not only methods of micrographic and chromatographic identification of the drug, but also a quantitative determination of the two main constituents: alpha-asarone ( propenylbenzene derivative) and guattegaumerine ( bisbenzylisoquinoleine alkaloid).
