Important studies dedicated to Vedic prose formulas showed how it is possible to recognize the most ancient brahmanic doctrines. Such results allow us to identify the most ancient interpretation of the consecration ceremony in the soma sacrifice. It is shown that this interpretation was built up on Aditi's mythology: she generated several twin gods, especially Indra and a still-born child, root of mankind. In archaic Vedic mythology, gods did not create humanity but just deprived it of its divine nature. [less ▲]

In sanskrit, aruna- means "red, pink". In Avestan, occidental scholars translate auruna by "wild". Nothing explains this paradox between two words whose etymological equivalence is obvious. A precise reading of the Rig-Vedic stanzas shows that the feminine form of this adjective always qualifies the Dawn. This systematic use modified the meaning of the adjective. Beyond its chromatic value, it indicates in the Rigvedic poetries the intermediate time linking day and night. [less ▲]
