The French Society of Clinical Biochemistry conducted this study to compare the accuracy and performances of the best creatinine enzymatic assays and the compensated Jaffe methods from the same manufacturers. Creatinine was measured in 3 serum pools with creatinine levels of 35.9 ± 0.9 μmol/L, 74.4 ± 1.4 μmol/L, and 97.9 ± 1.7 μmol/L (IDMS determination). The performances of the assays (total error that includes the contribution of bias and imprecision) were evaluated using Monte-Carlo simulations and compared against desirable NKDEP criteria. The enzymatic assays always fell within the desirable total Error of 7.6%. By contrast, this requirement was never obtained for the compensated Jaffe methods at the critical level of 74.4 ± 1.4 μmol/L. Only the compensated Jaffe creatinine on Olympus analyzer reached this specification at 35.9 ± 0.9 and 97.9 ± 1.7 μmol/L levels. This study demonstrates that, despite substantial improvement regarding traceability to the IDMS reference method and precision, compensated Jaffe creatinine methods, by contrast to enzymatic ones, do not reach the desirable specifications of NKDEP at normal levels of creatinine. Over the course of last two decades, Mexico’s policies towards its population abroad has moved from a situation characterized by a general lack of interest to being one of the most active state in this field. The recent development of dual national and external voting policies as well as the creation of a dedicated government agency and of a consultative body all epitomize the radical change through which Mexico has gone. In this chapter, I argue that the transformation of Mexico’s attitude towards its emigrants is strongly connected to the evolution of its political regime characterized by a transition towards democracy, a strong desire to take part actively in the global economy and the increasing interest of regional actors in migration issues. Focusing on the issue of external voting, the chapter concludes by discussing the evolution of the power relations between the emigrant community and the Mexican state. [less ▲]

From both a scientific and a practical point of view, two major trends seem to presently rule the adult training field: the psychosociological trend and the ergonomic trend. Though each one has widely contributed in developing training in organizational human resources development, we fail to see any significant level of understanding between the two trends or any dialogue based on scientific objectivity. The aim of this present paper is to hopefully initiate a dialogue with an eye towards development in training practices. A better understanding of these main approaches would bring help to those who seek to train personnel and to better orientate their choice of training. [less ▲]

L’argument de ce XLème Colloque des Hôpitaux de jour psychiatriques nous a plongés dans un abîme de questionnements théoriques et pratiques. Défiés par cette immersion dans les tréfonds du modèle, nous avons choisi de nous accrocher aux fondements de notre univers. La mythologie grecque sera donc notre source d’inspiration en mettant un dieu antique à notre disposition. Chronos sera notre guide dans un périple réflexif soumettant nos théories et notre pratique à l’épreuve du temps. Le récit de la conception d’un atelier thérapeutique, l’atelier « Art & Temps », sera notre fil d’Ariane dans notre tentative de symboliser notre pratique thérapeutique quotidienne et ses enjeux. Par la suite, l’exposé d’un cas clinique concrétisera un raisonnement théorique visant à situer notre modèle de prise en charge dans le réseau psychiatrique global. [less ▲]
