In 9 obese patients, epinephrine infusion (10 microgram/min) did not significantly modify the mean arterial blood pressure (MBP) in basal conditions. This infusion reduced MBP (-7 mm Hg, p less than 0.05) after 13 days of protein-supplemented fasting. This difference in the cardio-vascular reactivity to circulatory epinephrine could contribute to the decrease in the arterial blood pressure observed during protein-supplemented fasting. [less ▲]

Recently, we suggested that the cell coat of the surface epithelial cells of the palatal shelves and especially its sialyl groups are implied in the adhesion process which initiates the constitution of the secondary palate. In this work, use of cationized ferritin which interacts with anionic receptors of the plasma membrane give us the possibility to render these sialic acids visible. After five minutes incubation in presence of cationized ferritin, the labeling particles are distributed in monolayer over the plasmalemma of epithelial cells. Subsequent incubation in cationized ferritin free medium results in clustering of the marker followed by the detachment of the labeled patches. Otherwise, incubation in the presence of neuraminidase from Clostridium perfringens before the polycationic ligand contact prevents labeling. We think that lateral migration modifications of the anionic receptor could be associated with changes of the shelves capacity to adhere. [less ▲]

In this work we have developed two criteria which can characterize the susceptibility to microporosities formation of alloys. These defects are influential in determining mechanical properties of materials. The first criterion is used when the fraction eutectic is important : then the porosity formation is essentially caused by dissolved gases of formed during chemical reactions. The second is employed when the alloy possesses low fraction eutectic. In that case, because of the pressure drop, the liquid is unable to feed through interdendritic spaces to accomodate solidification shrinkage. The pressure drop is composed of two terms which influence in contrary direction : the first is due to solidification shrinkage and the second to gravity. This term is the most important except for low fraction eutectic. The fraction liquid (or the fraction eutectic) is an important factor. It depends on the alloy composition and on solidification conditions. In fact, we have showed that, depending on initial alloy concentration, the solidification conditions have opposite effects on the fraction liquid : if Co>KCe, the fraction liquid decreases if the ratio G/R decreases and if Co<KCe it increases if the ratio G/R decreases.
