Four methods are described to obtain pure neuronal cultures from chick embryo cerebral hemispheres. In our experimental conditions the proliferation of the glial cells in inhibited and cultures of either low or high neuronal density are obtained. The isolated neurons, however, did not survive longer than 8 to 10 days; the contact with glial cells seems to be necessary for the maintenance of the neurons in long-term cultures. [less ▲]

This paper deals with the measure of the tourists' influence on the temperature and the C02 rate in the Remouchamps cave. The variations, independent from the visitors, were first determined and then observations were carried out in the climatically stable part of the site. It is proved that the tourists have an actual influence which can be split into two effects : an immediate one and a more lasting one. The various amplitudes of these effects are given. [less ▲]

Today forest managers are needing for more detailed informations rapidly and accuratelly analyzed. Computers are able to make such information - handling possible in analyzing inventory data. The system developed here, is based on a forest "data bank", made up of manö permanent and dynamic files and comprising a great amount of quantitative and qualitative data describing the stands (the unit of description is the plot of any other fixed forest unit). The computer is able to carry out very rapidly, diverse tasks useful for forest management (various tables and summaries, management prescriptions, determination of allowable cut, remaining or search of balanced age distributions...). Records can be updated quickly, which allows for data und the results of treatments to be updated too. [less ▲]
