Theoretical research ordered by the Belgian Federal Ministry for Scientific Research, within the framework program “transport and mobility - 1990/1996”. This project involved the CRAU-Ulg in different international events dealing with “territorial organisation and mobility”. CRAU's intervention aimed to : 1. Establish what kind of links exist between urban planning and mobility in Belgium ; 2. Advise for a better co-ordination of policies in these fields. This research describes the most significant polarisation phenomena in Belgium and analyses the mobility generated by each specific urban typology through a broad description of flows and their interactions with the different parameters resulting out of the spatial organisation. A temporal analysis of these factors intends to describe the current evolution. [less ▲]
