Apart from its undoubtedly aesthetic qualities, most of the buildings also have an exceptional potential for redevelopment. Furthermore, their simple and resistant structure has enabled them to survive complete neglect over several years without any major damage. Nowadays, designated as a site for redevelopment by the Walloon Region, Val-Benoît deserves a great deal more than its current fate. The collection, containing a hundred or so works, offers a coherent whole reflecting the approach of present-day plastic artists. The author explores the process that has been followed for almost forty years and summarises the various actions implemented by management executives.
