Community forests, pillars of participatory forest management in Central Africa, have been incorporated into the Cameroon VPA, which is to come into force by the end of 2012. However, a recent study suggests that this integration might disturb the good implementation of the VPA. In consequence, community forests indirectly threaten the export of all Cameroonian timber.
