[more ▼] In view of studying the psychodynamic assessment of the vocational attitude of the 18 years old adolescent, according to his self-representation as resolute, undecided, or quite determined, we investigated the psychical process of a sample of 30 subjects through a set of cognitive tests (F.I.D., Locus of Control) and projective tests (TAT, Rorschach, Szondi) with regard to cognitive perceptive aspects and identification patterns. The sample was consisting of 30 final year students subdivided into three categories, namely resolute, undecided, quite-determined, each group including five females and five males. The 30 subjects were again contacted four years latter and retested (except one). At first, we interpreted, case by case, for each group, the cognitive tests, the T.A.T., the Rorschach, and the Szondi in order. In a second time, we performed a statistical analysis of all quantifiable data. In the frame of this presentation, we will focus on findings of projective techniques. In the light of the projective tests, the characters "resolute", "undecided", and "quite-determined", taken as symptoms, seem to be supported by specific intra-psychical dynamics. So far it must be pointed out that females intrapsychical dynamic is always better than male's one. [more ▼] The Szondi-test is especially adequate for the psychodynamic exploration of non occidental people because it is a non verbal projective technique. From the beginning of his work Szondi has isolated a special state of the Ego which he named "participative". This concept was a creation of the french anthropologist and philosoph Lucien LEVY-BRUHL.Though this author was seriously criticized, his theory contains some truth. The author of this article makes a complete review of the enquiries with the Szondi-test about non occidental people ( Gabon, Burundi, Congo, Mexican Indians, Tunisian women). All the studies reveal that the so-called "primitive" people are strongly resisting, thanks their "mystical participation", against the occidental influence which is characterized by two main factors: the ideal goal of personal individuation and the requirements of the Superego. This opinion was promoted by Freud in his well known work "Civilization and its discontents". The experimental results obtained with the Szondi-test correlate with the freudian theory about the cultural demands. [more ▼] There is no need to question the universality of the Oedipus complex: there is there always will be a paternal and a maternal imago to fix the primitive libido and the agressive drives through desire, jealousy and competition. On the other hand, what makes the major difference between the archaic mind and our modern western ideology is their cultural management of the Oedipus complex? Archaic societies use of rites of passage to prevent the return of Oedipus in adolescence whiile our culture gives free rein to the return of the repressed and does not fix any limit for adolescence to end. Each individual is then solitarily in charge of the stabilization of his adult identity. About 1980, 68 male native Tarahumaras of various ages ( from 5 to 80 years old) were examinated with the Szonditest. The results do not show any difference between indivuals. Such results agree with the opinion of Szondi about the socalled "primitive" people.
