[less ▲]

Without resuming its detailed description, the present article proposes a critical analysis of the options taken in Form@sup, a one-year postgraduate degree for higher education teachers who want to question their professional practice through the development of their online course. The article justifies the theoretical backgrounds of this training program and underlines the difficulties encountered in carrying out each of its basic principles. It then presents the decisions made for 2005-2006, insisting on the influence of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning movement. Through its concrete examples, it also aims at fostering reflection and exchange of practice amongst the instructional developers teams. [less ▲]

The article presents the Form@sup postgraduate degree, a one year training (60 ECTS) organized at the University of Liège, Belgium. The training aims at helping colleagues modify their practice, through a revisiting of the courses they have in charge. They perform a reflection-intervention inspired by the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning movement. Form@sup is described in its objectives, its tools, its principles, its models and methods. We then propose some participants’ comments before ending with a brief presentation of the changes that will be introduced in the next few years. [less ▲]

La recherche en classe pousse les enseignants à tenter de mieux comprendre les processus d’apprentissage en oeuvre chez leurs étudiants et à isoler les facteurs sur lesquels leur enseignement peut avoir une influence. we have developed a theoretical reference model that has three components: (1) A series of Learning Events (LE), seeking to describe and conceive the multiplicity of learning/teaching experiences and their underpinning psychological theories ; (2) a series of Principles helping in designing and evaluating learning environments, and their underpinning educational theories ; (3) a series of more specific descriptors, or metadata, that provide detailed information about the Learning Events, enabling to judge their intrinsic qualities, their underpinning theories (from media properties to group work rules) and their degree of appropriateness to specific learners and situations. The present document is a short description of the two first components: LE and Principles. [less ▲]
